Top East of England Wedding Venues
Having been lucky enough to capture so many wonderful weddings from so many awesome venues all over the UK, its also quite nice to regularly cover some a bit closer to home. There are an abundance of beautiful wedding venues all across the east of England but here are a few of my favourites.
South Farm, Royston, Hertfordshire.
Its always a pleasure punching in ‘South Farm’ to my satnav on the morning of a wedding, although to be quite honest, considering its only about 10 minutes down the road for me, I should really know how to get there without it… With its quirky character, beautiful gardens, scrumptious food and lovely staff, South Farm really is a joy to film at. Being surrounded by the peace of the Hertfordshire countryside and set in some lovely grounds, there is a plethora of pretty spots for getting away from your guests for a while and capturing some beautiful couple shots. Add to all of that the possibility of seeing some extremely cute piglets and South Farm is truly a great choice wedding venue!
Hengrave Hall, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Having been able to shoot a number of weddings at this stunning venue over various seasons has been such a lovely pleasure. Its a magical Christmas experience during the winter months with its epic interiors and then a breezy joy during the warmer parts of the year. Hengrave Hall is a truly unique venue, a historic Tudor mansion surrounded by sprawling gardens and serene countryside, with a touch of grandeur that makes you feel like you’re in your very own period drama, it even has its own cute little church which provides the perfect setting for beautiful ceremonies. This is a fantastic venue that provides everything you need without having to leave the grounds and its always good fun capturing weddings there.
Swynford Manor, Newmarket, Cambridgeshire
Swynford Manor has to be one of the brightest and airiest venues I’ve been able to film at, and from a videographer and photographers point of view, this is a fantastic asset! This venue brings the classiness of such a grand building, but has a modern and sophisticated twist on its interior. From getting ready in the morning in one of their stylish rooms, to an intimate indoor ceremony, or a larger outside affair, floods of confetti sprinkled from the epic staircase, to cocktails in the evening and throwing some shapes in the airy garden room, this venue oozes charm and luxury.
The Barn at Alswick, Buntingford, Hertfordshire
Now this is another thats not far from home for me, which is definitely always a bonus, but this venue truly speaks for itself. A stunning and charming rustic gem in the picturesque countryside, but what truly makes The Barn at Alswick special is its laid-back vibe and cozy atmosphere. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces, making you feel right at home – like you’re part of one big happy family. With its exposed beams yet contemporary twists, its a fantastic canvas to create the wedding of your dreams and I always enjoy being able to capture these fantastical events.
Parklands Quendon Hall, Quendon, Essex
Firstly, the staff at Quendon Hall go above and beyond to ensure that every wedding is a flawless affair, from the seamless coordination of events to the warm and welcoming hospitality extended to guests and vendors alike. One of the things I love most about filming weddings at Quendon Hall is the attention to detail. From the meticulously manicured gardens to the exquisite interiors, every inch of the venue is a testament to timeless elegance. Surrounded by an epic deer park, your guests can sip their drinks whilst admiring the hundreds of protected deer and then when its time for some dancing, the pavilion, its pretty fairy lights and awesome sound system, really do set the stage properly.
